Wildcat Wire is starting a feature that gives Culver-Stockton College students a chance to hear from the Student Government Association (SGA) president, and in another column, C-SC President Kelly Thompson.

Here – in her own words – is this month’s SGA report from Sarah Sparrow…

“Hello students!

We are almost at the halfway mark of the semester, which is crazy to believe! I hope you have been staying warm, and are staying on top of your studies. Midterms can be stressful, so be sure to take care of yourself! I know it gets put on the backburner when deadlines kick in, but be sure to get plenty of sleep. Burnout is best avoided, and with proper precautions and healthy choices, you can make it through those big deadlines (relatively) unscathed. You’ve got this!

This year I am serving as Student Government Association (SGA) President, and I have been met with one big question I did not expect: “What exactly does SGA do?”

SGA is made up of students, looking to fix problems and improve the experience of our peers on campus.”

— SGA president Sarah Sparrow

SGA is made up of students, looking to fix problems and improve the experience of our peers on campus. We do this through bills and funding of events. Our senate is made up of highly involved and motivated students with a passion for making a difference. I am thankful to work with such a great group! If you are one of those people that are unsure about the purpose of SGA, I would highly encourage you to attend a meeting! We meet Monday nights at 5 in Meaders. Attending meetings is a great way to stay up to date on what is happening on our campus, and we are even running a drawing for attendees to win a gift card this semester! The more meetings you attend, the higher your chances are to win some money and get informed while you’re at it.

I hope to see you at an upcoming meeting!

Sarah Sparrow”
