Culver-Stockton College’s Panhellenic Council held its annual recruitment for sororities on Sept. 12-15th. There were 68 ladies who participated this year.

They spent three nights going to each sorority house. During night one, the ladies got to tour each house and talk with its members. The sororities highlighted their philanthropies on night two, and on night three the ladies were invited back to specific houses to get to know that sorority better.

The recruitment chair for Chi Omega Alexis Janney says recruitment this year was a great experience. “Recruitment went so well for Chi Omega! We were very excited to welcome 13 new members and achieve quota. Our new members are doing great and are also excited to learn more not only about Greek life but how they can better themselves through Chi Omega!”

We see future leaders not only in Tri Sigma, but blossoming into leaders on campus.

Erica Lundt, the Tri Sigma recruitment chair, mentioned, “This was my first time prepping for recruitment as a member on exec and I was nervous like any person in this position, but my sisters did super well! I’m proud of each and everyone of them! We enjoyed every minute of it and are so proud of this pledge class! We see future leaders not only in Tri Sigma, but blossoming into leaders on campus. I’m still grinning at the fact we have such a great group of girls!”

Sigma Kappa’s recruitment chair Krista Barth mentioned, “Recruitment was a little stressful, at least for me. We never quite knew what was being thrown at us. One of my advisor’s favorite sayings is “We’re Sigma Kappas, we improvise.” I didn’t really think much of this saying until afterwards when I realized that not one rounds actually went according to the plan. These curve balls did keep recruitment exciting though! We are also very excited about being able to Continuous Open Bidding (COB) this year, because we always find some really quality women through that process.”

The events wrapped up on Sunday with the ladies running home to their houses. Each house has themes they incorporated into on Sunday. Chi Omega welcomed their 13 new members home with a NASCAR theme, Sigma Kappa welcomed their 10 girls with a Alice in Wonderland theme, and Tri Sigma welcomed 16 girls with a Rock’n Roll theme.
