Last call for submissions!

Harmony – the literary and arts magazine at Culver-Stockton College – is accepting submissions for the 2021 school year.  For years, this magazine represents Culver’s finest artwork and literary works.  Harmony accepts poetry and prose, visual arts, short fiction, media, or anything else relating to the arts.

The deadline for submissions has been extended to March 5th. The process is simple –  submit to https://bit.ly/culverharmony or email Dr. Patrick Lane at plane@culver.edu. The staff will select the pieces they believe will fit best in this year’s publication.  Submissions can be made to any or all categories. Names are kept anonymous during the selection process and then included with all publications –print or media.

Dr. Lane says the staff is enthused about submissions “especially writing and images that reflect the unusual experience we’ve all been through these past twelve months.”  Lane says “Maybe it has been a challenging time to make art in, but we’re looking forward to see what the members of the Culver-Stockton community have been creating in these unusual times.”

“…we’re looking forward to see what the members of the Culver-Stockton community have been creating in these unusual times.””

— Dr. Patrick Lane, Harmony adviser

Anyone who is a part of the Culver-Stockton Community (students, alumni, or faculty) is welcome to submit their work. The magazine staff does suggest, however, that submissions be publication-ready. That is, please provide photos that are polished and ready to be seen by others. This includes easily-read written works or photos of paintings and sculptures.

Harmony also encourages everyone to send in content that is digital since they are looking for more media content such as a slideshow of artwork you’d like to submit.  Dr. Lane and the Harmony staff have also happily accepted materials from music students who have produced original songs, which may include lyrics if provided.

The staff at Harmony magazine is looking forward to see and hear from Culver-Stockton College’s talented artists, musicians, and writers on campus.
