What you need to know
- Both Kamala Harris and Donald Trump need at least 270 electoral votes to win the presidency.
- The Electoral College consists of 538 electors.
- Wisconsin, Nevada, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Arizona, North Carolina, and Georgia are battleground states this year.
- It is too early to call in most battleground states. It appears that the election will come down to those states.

Wisconsin is too close to call with a Trump lead of 121,000 votes.
Nevada is still too close to call with a Trump lead of 37,000 votes.
Minnesota is too close to call with Harris leading by 84,000 votes.

Nevada has moved from too early to call to too close to call. Trump leads with 51% of the vote, with Harris having 47.4% of the vote. There is a difference of 36,000 votes with 70% of the vote in.

Pennsylvania is too close to call with a Trump lead by 214,000 votes. Only 8% of the votes haven’t been counted.
Michigan is also too close to call with Trump ahead by 52.1%.
Minnesota, the home state of Tim Walz, is too close to call with a Harris lead and a difference of only 53,000 votes.
It is still too early to call in Arizona where Trump has taken a 0.7% lead.
Wisconsin is too close to call with a Trump lead by 113,000 votes.

Harris’s team has announced she will not be making an appearance tonight at the Harris Headquaters, but will be tomorrow.
Harris is projected to win Nevada. She is leading with 51.4% of the vote, with Trump trailing at 46.4%.

With midnight approaching, more votes are coming in. Trump is currently leading with 246 electoral votes. Harris follows with 189. With 103 electoral votes left, it seems this will go late into the night.
Nevada is currently too early to call. Trump has a substantial lead with 73% of the votes waiting to be counted.
Georgia is too close to call. Trump is leading at 50.7% with Harris trailing behind with 48.4% of the vote.
Michigan is too close to call with a difference of only 167,000 votes. Trump is currently leading by 5%.

With Hawaii polls closing, Harris is projected to win its four electoral votes.
North Carolina is projected to go to Trump.
Pennslyvania is too close to call with a difference of 215,000 votes. Trump currently leads at 51.3% with Harris at 47.6%.
Wisconsin is also too close to call with a difference 87,000 votes. Trump is leading at 51%, while Harris is at 47.4%
Michigan is also too close to call with a difference of 105,000 votes. Trump is ahead with 51.2% and Harris is at 47%.
Minnesota is too close to call. Democrats are feeling optimistic with Harris having 52.5% of the votes, however many have yet to be counted.
Georgia is too close to call. Trump leads with 50.7% of votes compared to Harris’s 48.4%.
Arizona is still too early to call. Currently, Trump has a 0.4% lead on Harris
Nevada is also too early to call with only about three hours of vote counting. Trump has a sustainable lead on gaining its six electoral votes.

Despite being historically blue, Minnesota is currently too close to call. Harris has a narrow lead of 157,000 votes.
Harris is projected to win Virginia and its 13 electoral votes. It is currently 50.8% in favor of Harris, Trump trailing at 47.3% with 84% of the vote in.

Harris is projected to win Oregon and its eight electoral votes. There is a 220,000 vote difference with 45% of the vote in.

Nebraska is being called with Trump as the projected winner. Trump will receive three of the five electoral votes. Unlike most states, Nebraska gives out electoral votes by congressional district meaning that a candidate will not receive all five votes.
Pennslyvania is still too close to call with 58% of the votes counted.
Michigan is too close to call with only a 0.5% difference between the two candidates.
Wisconsin is too close to call with a narrow 0.1% or 1000 vote difference and less than half the votes counted.
Georgia is too close to call with Trump leading at 51.2% and Harris at 48%. In 2020, Biden won, however, Trump put efforts towards flipping it in this election.
While 84% of the vote is in in North Carolina, it is still be considered too early to call with a difference of less than 3%.
Arizona is too early to call with the polls just recently closing.

Virginia and its thirteen electoral votes are currently too close to call. Harris leads with 49.7% with Trump barely trailing by 1.2% of votes.
Nebraska is too early to call with less than half the vote being counted. Trump leads Harris at 49.9% with her trailing by 1.3%.
Minnesota is too close to call as well. However, unlike the other states, Trump has a more substantial lead with 60.1% to Harris’s 38.4%
Pennslyvania is one of the biggest battleground states and perhaps the decider in the election. Its 19 electoral votes are too close to call with Trump at 50.9% and Harris at 48.1%.
Wisconsin, another battleground, is also too close to call with only a 0.5% difference between the candidates. There is currently a separation of less than 8,400 votes. Trump is currently leading with 47% of the votes counted.

Iowa is projected to go to Donald Trump. This was widely expected, however, it appeared to be leaning blue earlier in the night. Trump is projected to win these six electoral votes, with 53.1% of the vote compared to Harris’s 45.4%.

Trump campaign officials have begun to feel “optimistic” as the votes continue to roll in. They are collecting votes from battleground states that might lead to many of them turning red as the night continues.
Harris campaign officials are feeling a sense of anxiety as the votes roll in. While many Senate and local seats are going to Democrats, Harris is falling behind in the polls.

We are still waiting for numbers from one battleground state. Many other key states are still too close to call.
Kamala Harris is projected to win Colorado and its 10 electoral votes. While it is historically a battleground state, it has leaned Democrat in recent years. She leads with 55.9% of the votes, compared to Trump’s 42%.

Nevada is currently too close to call. In 2020, Nevada wasn’t able to be called for Saturday. Continuing polling numbers will lead to a likely repeat.
Pennsylvania is also too close to call. As a key battleground state, both Harris and Trump focused their sights on Pennsylvania during this election cycle. Some reports predict that whoever wins Pennsylvania, will win the presidency. Harris currently leads with 55.5% with Trump trailing at 43.3%
Michigan is too close to call. Harris is currently leading with 51.7% while Trump has 46.5%. There are many votes waiting to be counted.

Polls are closing in battleground state Nevada, as well as Montana and Utah.

Montana: 4 electoral votes
Utah: 6 electoral votes
Nevada polls were supposed to close at 9:00 pm Central Time, but lines are currently wrapping around the building. They do not have enough machines across counties, which means that numbers will be slow coming in.
Trump is projected to win Louisiana. There are eight electoral votes at stake in this state. In 2020, Trump carried Louisana.
Trump is projected to win Utah. There are 6 electoral votes at stake in this state. In 2020, Trump won Utah.
