Have you ever had a moment where you need some kind of business attire for a job interview or an event on campus and you were stuck on what to do? Well, here at Culver-Stockton there is a career closet where students can find clothes for those type of occasions. According to Melissa Dubuque the Director of Career and Internship services here at C-SC states, “The Career Closet offers students free gently used career clothing, shoes and accessories” The Career Closet helps out those students that are not able to provide their own business attire because of financial reasons or even the fact if they don’t have a car on campus. This option is nice for trying to find something to wear for an in-class presentation, internships or student teaching.
These clothes are donated from the alumni, community members, faculty and staff and sometimes even students that attend C-SC. Students can also get helped get sized if they need it. If you need access to the career closet you could contact Melissa Dubuque to visit it anytime. The school also hosts big events in the fall and the spring where C-SC showcases all the clothes, shoes and accessories where students can go and pick out clothes throughout the day. The career closet is also very beneficial for Greek Life here on campus. Matthew Miriani a student that is a part of Tau Kappa Epsilon here at C-SC stated, “I like the Career closet because it gives me an opportunity to find clothes or accessories that I don’t have to wear for our formal events that my fraternity host”.
Even though there is a lot of benefits that come with the career closet there are some things that students wish they could see improvement on. Garrett Kelly, a freshman majoring in business admission stated, “I like the career closet, but I wish that they had more variety of sizes in there because most of the things are too big”.
