Lambda Pi Eta is the official honor society of the National Communication Association as it continues to recognize and celebrate academic excellence in communication studies across various universities. Here at Culver-Stockton College, the local Theta Iota chapter welcomed four new inductees to Lambda Pi Eta. The inductees include Libby Skaggs, Noah Crenshaw, Kevin Muller and Kendell Rivero. Their hard work throughout their academic career here at C-SC is what helped these four individual’s get the recognition they all deserved by getting inducted into Lambda Pi Eta.
Getting inducted into Lambda Pi Eta isn’t just about grades, it’s also about the commitment to the discipline. The qualifications are to have at least 60 semester credit hours, completion of at least 12 credit hours of communication courses, a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher and a communication studies GPA of 3.25 or higher. Membership is by invitation only and are typically nominated by faculty or chapter advisors. Inductions into Lambda Pi Eta gives members access to national networking and leadership opportunities, honor cords and regalia for graduation and a community of like-minded communicators and scholars.
An inductee Kevin Muller, a senior majoring in Public Relations here at C-SC stated, “It is extremely gratifying to be inducted into the Lambda Pi Eta Honors Society and rewarded for my academic achievements.” Another Inductee Libby Skaggs a sophomore majoring in media communication and minoring in Political Science here at C-SC stated, “I am excited to be inducted into the honor society and want to continue my education in communications.” Lastly, another inductee Kendall Rivero, a senior majoring in Sports Communication here at C-SC stated, “I’m excited to be inducted into the honor society and I am excited to keep working in the communication field.”
Lamda Pi Eta is looking to keep adding new inductees and recognize the hard-working students that attend C-SC.
