2019 Grammy Awards Highlights
An overview of the 61st Grammy Awards Ceremony
This year’s Grammy Awards was hosted by 15 time Grammy winner and singer-songwriter, Alicia Keys. She is the first woman to host the show in over a decade. Keys opened the show with (in my opinion) some of our times most iconic women: Michelle Obama, Jada Pinkett-Smith, Jennifer Lopez, and Lady Gaga. Keys was one of the several artists who performed last night, with others such as Dolly Parton, Diana Ross, Post Malone, and more.
There were also several stars that did not show for the ceremony: Ariana Grande, Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Childish Gambino, and others.
Here are some of the winners from the evening:
Best R&B Album: “H.E.R” H.E.R
Best Country Album: “Golden Hour” Kacey Musgraves
Album of the Year:”Golden Hour” Kacey Musgraves
Record of the Year: “This is America” Childish Gambino
Song of the Year: “This Is America” Donald Glover and Ludwig Göransson
Best New Artist: Dua Lipa
Best Pop Solo Performance: “Joanne (Where Do You Think You’re Goin’?)” Lady Gaga
Best Pop Vocal Album: “Sweetener” Ariana Grande
Best Pop Duo/Group Performance: “Shallow” Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper
Best Rap Album: “Invasion Of Privacy” Cardi B

Overall, the Grammy’s was a night of making history and pushing boundaries, and that is exactly what they did.
