Culver-Stockton vs. Missouri Valley Men’s Volleyball

Thursday, February 13th the Culver-Stockton College men’s volleyball team competed against the Missouri Valley Vikings.  Ultimately, the Wildcats fell in three sets, 30-28, 25-23, and 25-13.

In the first two sets, both teams were competitively neck and neck. Rallies were long and vigorous. C-SC’s Kyle Browne had many setter dumps when things were getting tough and Wildcat Shaquille Barker had many hard shots at the Vikings.

Missouri Valley however was relentless in the end. Throughout long rallies they tried to end up on top, one example of this is when Missouri Valley’s Brandon Johnston, tipped the ball right over the three man block into the “donut hole,” which is the center of the court.

We have had a hard schedule but we look to the future.

— Ass't. Coach Terry Veile

By the last set the Wildcat’s fire died down a bit and Missouri Valley won 25-13.   Assistant Coach Terry Veile stated “We came out strong against them. A few errors here and there cost us the first two sets. We have had a hard schedule but we look to the future. If we stay focused, disciplined, and enjoy playing the game we love, then, and only then, will victories come.”

The Wildcats are back in action Saturday on the road against Lincoln College.
