The Culver-Stockton College cross country teams competed in the Viking Invitational hosted by Grand View University Friday night in Ankeny, Iowa.

The women’s team fielded a full team and placed sixth in the six-team event, finishing with an average time of 27:24.5. The men’s team had only four runners compete and did not record a team score.

Both teams are scheduled to return to action Oct. 10 when they compete in the NAIA Seminole Valley Stampede in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The women’s race is set for 10:30 a.m., while the men’s race will start at 11:15 a.m.

The Culver-Stockton College football game at Missouri Valley, slated for Saturday, Sept. 12, in Marshall, Mo., has been postponed.

This decision was made due to COVID-19 protocols, and will allow student-athletes to return to competition in the safest manner possible.

The game has been rescheduled for Saturday, Oct. 10. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. That date was originally a bye week for each of the conference schools heading into division play the following week.

The Wildcats now are scheduled to begin the season Saturday, Sept. 19, at home against Evangel University. Kickoff is scheduled for noon at Ellison Poulton Stadium.
