“Achieving your Dreams”, A Graduation Speech by President Michael Elbe
It has been four long years for many of the Culver-Stockton College seniors. They’ve marched onward, maneuvering through obstacles such as COVID-19 for a large portion of their careers. These graduates have been forced to overcome, adapt, and sometimes change everything they’ve known. But now they’re finally allotted a moment to reflect, recognize, and celebrate their achievements.
Culver-Stockton welcomes, John Wood Community College (JWCC) President Michael Elbe to “the Hill” to deliver his Commencement address to the graduates .
Like the seniors, President Elbe is on his way to the next step of his life. He plans to retire in December, after over 30 years of service to JWCC. Because of his servitude to JWCC, President Elbe will be awarded an Honorary Doctor of Education on behalf of Culver-Stockton College. Before then, President Elbe plans on sending off the graduating class of 2022 by giving his “Achieving your Dreams” speech. In this speech, he plans to address the journey he’s had over his educational career, his leadership path, and the lessons he’s learned on the way.
President Elbe is not only an educator but he is also a coach who has high hopes that his personal lessons will leave the graduates with a message they’ll reflect on positively, and resonate with for years to come. President Elbe’s main goal is to challenge the graduates to achieve their very own dreams one day.
President Elbe’s Commencement speech is on May 14 at 9:30 a.m.
