On Wednesday, Oct. 2 , the annual Culver-Stockton College’s Professional Women Clothing Drive was held in Carl Johann Memorial Library.  Started in 2012, this is the the seventh year that this program has been offered to assist women to expand their professional closet.

Donations are gathered from the community throughout the year, and are set up into the boutique event, in which women can find different types of professional clothes and accessories.

“We set up a pop-up boutique,” said Robin Jarvis, Director of Career and Internship Services, “where young ladies can come shop for professional clothing with no charge.”

Dr. Carol Mathieson, Professor Emerita of Music and a member of American Association of University Women mentioned that this is a bit of a joint venture with other groups, including the Women of Promise group.

“We are really interested that our women succeed. When students go on interviews, we want to make sure they are looking good.

In the spring, there will be a men’s professional clothing event as well. More information about that event will be released about that event whenever the times grows closer to the date.
